Olvy Managed Cloud now supports HTTP/3
Olvy Managed Cloud platform now supports HTTP/3 – third version of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). HTTP/3 is the successor to HTTP/2 and is based on QUIC protocol designed to allow secure and reliable data transport over the Internet. Additionally, it uses UDP instead of TCP for faster data transmission. HTTP/3 also includes advanced features like multiplexing, which allows multiple requests to be sent at the same time, reducing latency and improving performance.
Also, QUIC uses TLS 1.3 security protocol that has more speed and security than TLS 1.2. One of the improvements that makes TLS 1.3 faster is a change to how a TLS handshake operates: TLS handshakes in TLS 1.3 only need one round trip instead of two, reducing the process by a few milliseconds. And in situations when the client has visited a website before, the TLS handshake will have zero round trips. This makes HTTPS connections quicker, lowering latency and enhancing the overall user experience.
As more people around the world access the Internet through mobile devices and remote networks, the need to make sure that the connection is faster and stable is more urgent than ever. HTTP/3 is an enhancement on previous versions of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and with TLS 1.3 it helps users to boost web performance by reducing the time it takes to connect web applications and web sites. Olvy Cloud clients with HTTP/3 enabled on the Cloud servers are experiencing improvement up to 15% in website pages load time.
HTTP/3 support on Olvy Cloud platform is build on a separate Nginx “quic” branch. Nginx is known as the fastest Web server with load balancing and page caching features.
